Elise:
I’ve been living a lie. To climb the ranks of the boys club of finance, I pretended to be something I’m not. I’ve avoided men for years, but there’s no avoiding Sam Hemmings. Rich, gorgeous, cocky, and wild, he’s like a caveman cowboy. He’s also the very last thing I think I need.
A freak blizzard has us trapped together in the same hotel. But a freak twist of fate may have us trapped together for a heck of a lot longer than that. See, Sam needs a wife, or he’ll lose half his fortune.
He’s out of options; I’m out of excuses. What could possibly go wrong?
Sam:
Stubborn mule. Horse-headed. A jack—well, you get it. I’ve been called all sorts of things. But not a single person’s ever called me out on my own BS as much as Elise James.
The woman confounds me, and infuriates me. But she also has me curled around her damn pinky finger, if I’m being honest. I know I’m barking up the wrong tree with her. But stubborn is as stubborn does, as they say.
My witch of an ex-wife and my equally miserable brother are after the fortune I’ve built with my bare, rough hands. I’m about to have my empire cut off at the knees, unless I find a bride.
I’ve sworn off women for years, but I might be out of options.
But I also might have the only option I really want standing right in front of me…
Jagger Cole likes his romance books like he likes his martinis—extra dirty, with a twist. A reader first and foremost, Jagger got his start with steamy romance almost ten years ago, writing especially dirty and somewhat perplexing Star Wars erotic fan-fiction for online message boards.
After deciding to hang up his writing boots, Jagger worked in advertising for a number of years pretending to be Don Draper. It worked enough to convince a woman way out of his league to marry him, though, which is a total win.
Now, Dad to two little princesses and “Daddy” to a Queen, Jagger is thrilled to be back at the keyboard.
When not writing or reading steamy romance books, he can be found woodworking, enjoying good whiskey, and grilling outside—rain or shine.
This was a really sweet, hot and sexy romance with a bit of the fake marriage turning real trope. I really loved it. It was a bit different than I have read before but I adored the characters and I loved how romantic it was.
Sam and Elise meet one night in Colorado. At a restaurant bar for a Tinder date but they know each other and that's where things go sideways I guess you could say. Because they are not strangers...at all. In fact they both are in lust with each other.
This is actually a second book in the series. I have never read this author before so all the characters were new to me but it easily stands alone and I fell hard for all the characters in the story.
The author did a really awesome job telling this story and explaining Elise and Sams motivations and reasons for their secrets.
