In this story we meet two very different Ethan's but both are grown up versions. He finds out the truth that we have all known through the last three books (and I am not spoiling how.) That man is in love with Emily and she is in love with him buut when he finds out the truth he feels so betrayed that he leaves everything behind as he goes out to seek the truth of who he really is.
The next time we meet him, is 5 years later and he is a bitter angry man who is at war with himself and his heart. He eventually comes home and is not the man left town. But nothing is the same. Emily has finally moved on. His friends have married, his siblings have grown up and his parents are much older.
He has to decide what he wants and he will have to learn to forgive and move on to his future and decide what and who that will include.
This was an awesome story and the author brought it full circle. I for one will miss all these awesome characters. I loved seeing all the major characters from the first 3 books and what their future was and how they are with Ethan. His birth really affected all three couples and their future and it was awesome seeing their futures.
