It seems his entire life all people have done is leave. So what does a man do when he has so little? He pours everything into the only thing that he has left. Hockey. This sport has brought him a family, hope, something to work for, but what was the one thing he never expected for it to bring him?
A green-eyed, wild child with a soul that brings him back home.
Valor Sullivan was raised on the ice by a single father who inspired her love for hockey.
With a mouth that would make a sailor blush, and fiery red hair she is a force to be reckoned with on and off the ice. There doesn’t seem to be anything hard work won’t get her. Well, everything but him.
Bishop is her Endgame.
The only problem? He’s eight years older and one of her father's closest friends.
Fate blurs the lines of past and present to pull these two together. The only question is...
Were they always meant to be? Or damned from the start?

This was an extremely angysty romance. if that is what you love, then you will adore this romance. I don't love that in a romance, I like it to be more fun and lighter and this story is DEFINITELY NOT a light and happy read. It deals with very serious issues like drug abuse, abandonment and suicide and depression. That said it was a wonderful story and the writing was absolutely amazing and the characters had depth and a realism to them that I adored. I am very impressed with this story and how the author made me fall in love with the characters.
This tells the story of two women, Lucy and Valor. They are mother and daughter but Lucy had a horrible early life and when she tries to see her daughter after abandoning her , her ex stops her and so Valor grows up motherless but very loved by her father. Her father is an nhl player and he helps mentor, Bishop. Bishop and Valor meet at age 10 and 18 and they both fall hard for the other. At first its a friendship but as Lucy grows up, it turns to more on both sides.
However Bishop is a very damaged soul, he grew up abandoned by his family as well and so he has lots of flings and though he falls for Val as she becomes a woman he wants to hide it and Val refuses to be any ones dirty secret.
This was an amazing story. Really amazing. I adored how mature Valor was and how much Bishop really has to grow up and realise just how precious she is and how precious love is and how to fight for her heart. This had a wonderful cast of characters and I loved the theme of fate and the full circle this story told.
