Playing with Words by Kelly Elliott

Playing with Words by Kelly Elliott is now live!

ABOUT THE STORY

Hudson Higgins had fond memories of Boggy Creek from his childhood. So what better place to escape New York City for a few weeks to finish up a book that was nearing deadline than the small town in New Hampshire his parents visited nearly every summer.

What he couldn't have known was how his life would be turned upside down when he walked into Greer Larson's bookstore his first day in town.

Greer Larson lived a quiet life in her hometown of Boggy Creek. She had worked nearly her whole adult life to make her dreams of owning her bookstore come true--and now, Turning Pages was her everything. She lived, eat, and breathed the success of owning her own business.

That is, until a stranger came to town and showed Greer that there was more to life than simply working. A friendship between Greer and Hudson quickly formed over their love of books and the outdoors.

When Greer's bookstore is threatened, Hudson soon realizes he hasn't simply fallen for the charm of Boggy Creek and Greer, he'd fallen in love...with both the town, and the woman who stole his heart from the moment she first smiled at him.

Playing with Words is book two in the Boggy Creek Valley series and is a stand alone novel.

I read the first book in the series and absolutely adored it. This is book 2 and it easily stands alone. The characters from the first book are minor characters in this book but Greer who we meet in the first book because she runs a local bookstore in Boggy Creek is the star of this story.

She is paired  with newcomer, Hudson who is a famous author who is having a lot of distractions when he tries to write in NYC, where he lives. His family has great memories of family trips to Boggy Creek in New Hampshire, so he decides to try and get a change in scenery  by visiting and hopes the words come to him so he can finish his latest book.

He sees the local bookstore and meets Greer who helps him find a quiet spot to write and later she offers him friendship and a secluded cabin to write in.

This story was low on drama. I liked the first book more because it had more drama. But this was a more laid back story, and there is a side plot of who in town is trying to buy up buildings and the future of Greers book store.

What I really like about this story is that there are no ex dramas, no real jealousy, just two people who like each other and who hang out, help each other, offer support and get to know each other by going on dates.

Hudson is a really awesome guy and he is very mature. He knows right away that he likes Greer and she knows the same thing. The biggest issues in this story is what will happen to Greer and Hudson when he finishes his book? and will she have to move her bookstore?

I enjoyed this story a lot just I liked the first book more. The next book is about divorced couple Bishop and his ex Abby and I cannot wait. Their story looks awesome.
