This is Teddy's story and I adored him in Cole and Zoe's story and so I couldn't wait to read this story. I loved how the author kept Teddy true to the character he was in the previous book but also by giving him a very complicated past and family life that made him into the Teddy that I adored.
In this story Teddy has a bit of a wild rep with the ladies and to get his inheritance he needs to settle down and when he finds out that senior student, Vanessa needs help with her school tuition, well he forms a bargain with her to be his fake girlfriend.
This two are very opposite personalities but together they form a pretty perfect couple. Vanessa is a bit of a mess. She has not dated since high school. She is a plus sized girl and she is a smart woman but comes from a very poor area in Georgia. She works hard and is trying to escape and make a better life for herself until she looses a scholarship and ends up making a bargain with fun loving Teddy.
Teddy looks together on the outside but inside he is a mess. His father is out to get him and his roommate is not making it easy for Teddy to clean his act up so he can get his inheritance. And then he meets Van and they make a bargain that changes both their lives forever.
I loved this story so much. Teddy was absolutely awesome. I loved him in the previous book and I adored him here and I totally was rooting for him in this story. Van was a new character that I grew to love as well as she supports Teddy and he supports her. I love how hard she worked to make something of herself with her college education.
This story was really different and that was all due to Teddy. He is so loveable that all his friends love him so hard and even Vanessa falls for him, She doesn't believe he is into her and I adored the scene when she confessed her biggest shame and secret and I adored what Teddy and his friends do for her.
This was a story that had a bit of an abuse angle to it. It is not violent but it does have some abuse in the storyline. It also has a small bully angle as well. But its also a triumphant story in that Van and Teddy's pasts only make them stronger in the face of the people who try to hurt them. I loved how hard Teddy worked to get Van to open her heart to him and I loved how hard she struggled until she finally saw into his heart. A truly heart warming story that I adored.
