This was an enjoyable holiday read about two very lonely people who find each other. Its a bit of a second chance at romance with an enemies to friends to lovers with forced proximity during a winter snow storm. It was well writtend and starts off a bit slow but was so much fun to read as the story gets going.
It stars Amy Heller, who is the sister to Josh Heller whose story is told in "You Had Me at Hockey" (You Had Me at Hockey — Kelly Jamieson). She has been hurt by her ex when he cheats and also tries to steal a job she is trying for. She decides to celebrate Christmas alone at a cabin in the mountains that a friend told her was empty.
We also meet Ryder who ends up with a few extra days before Christmas and asks a friend of a friend if he can stay at the cabin. Thats how they end up at the same cabin during a freak snow storm. But Ryder and Amy are not strangers. He ended up living with her family in high school and Amy had a huge crush on him but he turned her down and hurt her badly.
So she hates on him and he is happy to see her. Amy is the grumpy one in this story and Ryder adores everything about Christmas. It was fun watching him try and make her love Christmas and get to know her now as they both are grown up.
This was a heart warming and fun romance where the female in the story does not have holiday spirit and the male does and I really enjoyed the writing and the characters in this story.
