This is book 4 in the Campus Nights and it ends the series as all the single friends are now coupled up, In this story we get to see Johnny Maverick and Dakota finally find their happily ever after in this friends to lovers romance.
The prime star of this book is Dakota. She is Reagan's bestie and she is friends with everyone and has only casually dated at Valley U. She is friends with Johnny Maverick who is best friends with her friends and their boyfriends. He is wealthy and has always know where he was going and when as he was signed to an NHL team when he started college.
In this story he bids farewell to Valley U and heads to Minnesota for the Wild Cats, his new NHL hockey team. He decides to help Dakota get an intern job with his team so he can take a bit of Valley U with him at least over the summer.
Honestly at the start of this book and in previous books I did not love Maverick. He is into very casual relationships. He has many, many hookups and its usually with multi girls because he wants to avoid entanglements. While its great that he has always known his future, in a way it was sad as it stuck him into a box he couldn't escape from during his college years.
In this story we watch him grow up and thats in part to his friendship with Dakota. Dakota is one tough cookie and I loved how she has so much pride and esteem in herself and she wants to work hard for everything and never wants special favors from Mav.
This was a fitting end to the series and I love that future books will be about Mav's new teammates. Jack's book is one I am highly anticipating.
