I LOVED this book, Arrogant Boss so much. It's so different and definitely a much better book than Heartless Boss. This is a story about true love, loving yourself and working for your dreams. It's about looking beyond the surface both on the outside but also on the inside. It's about forgiveness and letting someone into your heart even if you will get hurt and it's about being vulnerable to love.
There are lots of ups and down in this book but as I read this book, I realized they were very much needed. If Atlas or Lake had confessed their feelings at different parts of the story, something would have been missing. To get to the point that they could be together they needed to do things in the order they did so that they could ride off into the future with full and open hearts. I think this story shows just how important the right time is as important as the right feelings are.
Atlas and Lake grew up together and their families were very close. But Atlas is ten years older than her, and she has had a boyfriend for years until she was in a very serious accident. After the accident while she was single, she was in no shape for another relationship.
Atlas has some deep feelings for Lake but he has denied them for years. What he does admit to is lust for her and when she ends up as his new executive assistant well, he tries to convince her to give into their lust. But Lake knows she needs more and has no desire for another broken heart.
I loved that Lake in every instance makes Atlas work for her attention, lust and heart. He apologized so awesomely as well, and he really cares about her. He was always there for her and its one reason I totally rooted for him throughout the book.
This was a wonderful second chance romance about fearing the power of love but also embracing it. I really loved the story and the characters and enjoy watching their journey to each other.
