CRUEL KING by K.A. LInde (Gavin and Whit)

ABOUT THE BOOK
A new stand alone fake relationship romance set in the glitz and glamour of the Cruel world from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde...

The most eligible bachelor in New York City just asked me to be his fake fiancรฉ.

Gavin King is six and a half feet of delectable billionaire with a devil’s smile that says he knows exactly what he’s going to do to me later. Because he has.

Three years ago, I caught him in the shower and promptly fell into his bed. But neither of us were relationship material. Not to mention I’d just broken up with his best friend.

Now, I’m back in the city and he has a plan:

Go to his cousin’s wedding.

Convince his family that he’s not an eternal bachelor.

Post a huge elaborate break up later.

With those big puppy dog eyes begging me to agree, claiming I’m the only one who can pull it off, I say yes. What could go wrong? Other than pulling it off so successfully that the line between real and fake blurs.

When my family flips the whole script, I can’t see a way out. And I’m starting to wonder if I even want one.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a stand-alone book with the NY Society world. I have only read an occasional book in this series, and I never felt lost reading this book. This is the story about Gavin King and Whit and it's a second chance, fake fiancรฉe and friends to lover's romance.

PART 1
I love the authors way of telling stories and this story is told in five parts. The first part is Whit and Gavin's shall we say reunion. Its her home homecoming. She has been in LA for three years and she gets a new job in NY and comes back to all her close friends and yes Gavin. To say it's complicated is an understatement with these two.

PART 2

This was a really fun part of the story. In this section Gavin and Whit play pretend as they enjoy a very interesting wedding of Gavin's family in Texas. I love his family SO much. From the rehearsal dinner to the wedding, I loved watching these two pretend to be engaged.

PART 3
Gavin and Whit go back to NYC, but things get very complicated, and the engagement gets very real. We also get to meet Whit's family in this section, and it was very eye opening shall we say. I loved watching the gang help Whit out and getting to see characters from previous books as they celebrate with Gavin and Whit.

PART 4
This was a fun section. Whit and Gavin get closer as they enjoy their relationship and a period of engagement. We see a bit more of the Locke family and it's complicated for Whit when she sees something she shouldn't. This is the part of the book that we really see how much closer Whit and Gavin are and how they trust each other.

PART 5
Whit and Gavin get married, or do they? These two really kept me guessing through this section. In addition, we see a lot more of Whit's family in this section when all Whit and Gavins secrets are exposed.

This was a really fun and awesome story. There is some drama but what I loved about this book was that the drama never got in the way of Whit and Gavin and their feelings about each other.

I think this was one of my favorite books in the series, I loved how the author brought all Whit and Gavin's friends into this story as they spent time with Whit and Gavin. But the best thing about this book was how these two really trusted each other about absolutely everything and it really showed in the story the author told.
