I have never read this author before and she also has a second identity of Zoe York, who I have heard of but never read. So this was my first time checking her out and wow, color me impressed. I LOVED this book so much. Which is saying a lot when you know this book is over 50 chapters and it took me several days to read. Throughout this book I could not wait to read the next chapter. It was a wonderful story and I fell in love with the two main characters, Kieran and Harper.
This is a second chance romance between these two who meet and have a one night stand in a pre-book called "The Girl in the Hockey Jersey by Ainsley Booth". I did not read this pre-book but if you want to read it, it is a free book and you can see the start of this relationship.
This book starts 2 years later and Kieran has been traded to Canada and a new team in Harper's hometown. But he fell hard for Harper two years before and when he thinks he spots her at a game, well he is shocked and works very hard to find her again.
Harper feels like it would be very hard to date a hockey player as its a very painful subject for her mother who brought her up as a single mom. So when Kieran does find her, she wants to be just friends.
This book has a lot of hockey in it. I know nothing about hockey so it was very informative. It also takes place in Canada so I learned some new Canadian terms and how it differs from American Hockey. Things I would have never even thought about.
It also is very romantic and has lots and lots of sex scenes. They were well written and very interesting and very fun but there are a lot of sex scenes so be forewarned.
