This was an awesome story about two people destined to be together but with a BIG age gape, best friends to lovers and also a fake relationship.
Merida met Carter when she was 5 and he was 16. Her father Keith was heavily into mourning his wife's death and she had no one until Carter entered her life. They became very close, best friends and she had a HUGE crush on him as they grew up together. But four years before when she was 18 something happened, and she left him for college, and they had no interaction in the last four years.
So, when she comes home well, he starts to really see her and sees that she has grown up. He will have to confront what occurred 4 years before and they have some huge obstacles in their way like her father, the age gap and the fact that someone else is interested in her too.
This was a really awesome story. It is very romantic. Its filled with a stalker, not for Meri but it's part of the storyline. There is angst but just the right amount. I love that the author does not go overboard in angst. Its just enough to make it so romantic.
