ABOUT THE BOOK
Welcome to Fort Lauderdale—where the days are hot and the Knights are hotter.
Johan:
The last thing I need under my roof is a matchmaker… but that’s exactly what’s
going to happen if my grandmother moves from Slovakia to Fort Lauderdale to
live with me. She says it’s because she’s lonely, but I know better. She’s
planning to find me a wife.
The problem is, I already have my eye on someone: my teammate’s sister. She’s
gorgeous, sexy—and not staying in Florida. But now that I’ve had a taste, I
don’t want her to leave. And I don’t know how to ask her to stay without
risking it all.
Sloane:
I ran away when I was sixteen and I’ve never stopped. From the abuse of my
childhood to the trauma of my failed marriage, it’s easier to keep moving.
Until the search for my brother leads me to Fort Lauderdale.
Once I’m there I find a different kind of family—his team. Especially Johan. My
brother warned everyone I’m off limits, but the Slovak hunk is known for
breaking the rules both on and off the ice.
I just hope he doesn’t break my heart.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she's called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She's never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she'd probably choose the west coast.
A typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max), Kat can usually be found scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) - traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible.
Kat's been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years. She sold her first article--a review of a rock concert--for $10 in 1985. Since then she's been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer. She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles.
As you can guess from her Las Vegas Sidewinders series, Kat loves hockey and occasionally writes articles about her favorite team, the Florida Panthers. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There's something enticing about hockey players and romance...

This story features a Lauderdale Knight, Johan. He is a teammate of Decker who we met in a previous book. Decker has been searching for his older sister for years. She left home at 16 and has not been heard of since. That is until she shows up at the Knights practice looking for Decker.
Sloane got married at 16 to a guy that pretty much saved her from her abusive past. As the years went by, he changed and became someone she did not like, so she is now divorced from him. Her birth name was Harper, but her ex helped her change her name to Sloane and it's what she likes to be called. One day she spotted Decker on TV and she wanted to reconnect with her younger brother and so she went to Florida to try and find him and let him know that she was doing okay.
What she found was Decker, his fiancรฉe and Johan, plus his whole team. She is in the process of moving to Los Angeles but has some time to spend with her long-lost brother and also time to get to know Johan. But it can't be more than that because she has a job, a friend and a place to stay in Los Angeles.
Decker is very protective of his newfound sister and so he forbids anyone from going after her, that includes Johan. So, there is an angle of a forbidden relationship between Johan and Sloane.
In addition, the new job in Los Angeles is working for another hockey team, the Los Angeles Phantoms. (yes, a new hockey series will start, and this story will explain the connection and team.)
I loved this story a lot. Sloane is one very strong woman, and I really admired her strength, and I loved that Johan saw all this in her pretty much right away. These two together were so sexy, hot and awesome and I loved how they fell for each other and their love story.
