To start off I should mention that this is NOT a stand alone story. It is book 3 in the series but I highly recommend that you start with book one because each book builds on the Baker Brother's relationship and its important to know what previously happened. There are lots of recurring characters and one can get lost with so many different characters and their relationship to each other.
Also Nyx is featured in this story and to not be lost relating to her and Pierce's relationship I suggest you read her story in Didn't Expect You.
That all said if you didn't want to read those books you can pretty much get away with reading this as a stand alone. It stars Lawyer, Pierce and his wife Layla. When we met them in the previous book, we knew they were on the verge of a divorce but thats not what starts this book. Rather we get to meet them at the very beginning and see how their relationship starts, how they get married and the break down of their relationship and almost divorce.
And well I absolutely adored how the author told this story and how we get to join Pierce and Layla from the begining. I also loved how Pierce's father dies, how it really brings these two together. It was an awesome story and the only thing I hated was that it ended.
