Rescued - An Everyday Heroes World Novel - by Evan Grace

ABOUT THE BOOK

Evan Grace’s Rescued is a hot, intense, emotional contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds project.

After spending the last few years globetrotting for her travel vlog, Gwen Malone has finally decided to come home to Sunnyville, California. Her plan was to spend time with her family and friends, and decide where to go next.

The last thing she expected was to be attracted to the tattooed police officer, Maverick Graves. At her welcome home party her sister and best friend warn her to stay away, that he’s a player and commitmentphobic. That was the plan except she saw him everywhere — sometimes with other women. That only solidified that Gwen needed to avoid him.

To Maverick, Gwen was untouchable. Yes, she was gorgeous, he was very interested, but she was his boss’s daughter and he wasn’t going to go there no matter how much he wanted to.

A simple favor for her dad and she was in a van with him driving along the coast. When an accident traps them together things get real, quick. When they’re finally rescued they can’t seem to stay apart, no matter how hard they try.

Things can change in an instant — will they both give in to what they really want? Or deny their true feelings, losing the other forever.

EXCERPT

When I step into the bedroom, I find Gwen sticking a pair of black, sexy, stiletto heels in what she calls her ‘weekender bag.’

I wrap my arms around her from behind. “Whatcha got in the bag?”

“A hot little number to wear out tonight.” Gwen rubs her ass against my dick, which he appreciates because I immediately get hard. “Naughty boy, is that a nightstick in your pocket or are you happy to see me?”

I throw my head back, laughing harder than I think I ever have. She turns in my arms, wrapping her arms around my waist, smiling widely up at me. I grab her ass and thrust against her. “You like my big nightstick, don’t you?” I bite at her neck and she squeals. The doorbell interrupts us. “Fuck, it’s probably Troy.” I kiss her before leaving her to finish.

AUTHOR BIO

A Midwesterner and a readaholic most of her life. One day an idea came into her head and a writing career was born. She's a sucker for happily ever afters and loves creating fictional worlds that others can get lost in. She loves putting her characters through the ringer, but loves when they get to that satisfying, swoony ending.
When the voices in her head give it a rest, which isn’t often, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Aurora Rose Reynolds, (the queen) Kristen Ashley, Kaylee Ryan, Natasha Madison, and Harper Sloan. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, movies, TV shows and life.
She's a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and (the real) Evan, a weightlifter, a home healthcare scheduler, and a full-time writer. How does she do it? She'll never tell.

This was an absolutely wonderful story. I actually hope the author writes a 2nd story for Taylor. It is a small town romance between a cop, Maverick and the police chiefs daughter, Gwen. Mav is very anti love and romance and he just does hookups and one is with Gwen's high school nemesis and she knows that.

They are attracted to each other when they meet but Gwen is warned off him and he knows that he can't go there with his bosses daughter. That is until one day he is doing a favor for her father and they end up in a life or death situation.

This situation ends up changing both of them forever and the only ones who really get it are them. And that is when their relationship changes.

This book was absolutely awesome. Wonderfully written and characters I want to see again and a story I could not put down.

The only  criticism I have about the book is the fact that the couple never has a condom/sexual history discussion especially since Gwen knows he was with her high school enemy prior to them getting together.
