This is a series about a family of performers at a traveling circus. I have only read the second book and then this one. In the series the father has died, they all had different mothers, but their father required them to travel with the circus. According to the will they now run the circus. In this book they have redone the circus and now are located only in Dallas Texas.
They have uncovered some very nasty info about the circus and employees, as well as the people who attended the circus. Thats why they bring in Winston who is a billionaire who is on a crusade against child trafficking. Crimson is the family member most affected by this revelation, and this is her story.
This book is extremely dark. Darker than I like to read and maybe the darkest story I have ever read by this author. In recent years I am used to some darkness in her stories with someone dying or some horrible tragedy, but this book goes way beyond that, so if a dark book is an issue with you, you have been warmed.
This book is also very heavy. It deals with some really important and serious subjects. The author did a great job with the subject, and you will probably shed a few tears. So, if you want a story that will hit you hard and make you emotional, then you will love this story.
This book is also very sexy and HOT. Crimson and Winston are fire together. They burn very hot for each other in every scene they are in. They irritate each other and at points in the story they have a very antagonistic relationship with each other, but they also can't keep their hands off each other. If you love insta lust well then you will adore this couple together.
I really enjoyed reading this story. The characters were so interesting and what was happening behind the scenes of the circus was fascinating. But there were also parts of the story that were really hard to read. But it was also a book that I was engrossed in and could not put down. So, make sure you have plenty of time to read this book.
