Interception by Eva Haining - Hall of Fames Series

Becoming a baby daddy wasn’t part of the plan…

Cooper ‘Coop’ Danford is an NFL Titan and hot commodity to his female fans. Not one to settle down, Coop enjoys the spoils of fame and fortune. It’s not until sassy, sexy, Zoey ‘Zee’ Porter literally shows up on his doorstep that he contemplates something more.

Zee is a woman who knows what she wants, and she’s not afraid to take it. Thrown into the deep-end with her best friend, Faith, Zee unwittingly finds herself in the home of NFL heartthrob—lucky number seven—Cooper Danford. He’s everything she likes in a one-night stand. He’s hot, ripped, and ready to show a girl a good time. After a sizzling weekend fling, Zee is keen to leave him behind and go about her life.

Coop has other plans.

Attempting to woo Zee, she keeps him at arm’s length, unwilling to let herself fall in love. When the fates collide and the not-so-couple couple find themselves expecting, they’re in for some sidesplitting adventures along the way.

What does love, lust, and family look like when these two find themselves in the endzone before Zee was ready to start the game?

INTERCEPTION is a witty, hilarious follow up to the 2020 hit rom-com, FUMBLE, but can be read as a standalone novel in the Hall of Fame series.

PROLOGUE

Zee

Nothing good can come from letting a guy ride you bareback.

Since the day I lost my virginity in the back of my high school boyfriend’s Camaro, I’ve had one rule:

If you’re not gloving it, I’m not loving it.

It’s a pretty simple rule, but you’d be surprised how many times I’ve broken it when faced with a raging lady boner, tequila, and a hot guy saying all the right things. I’ve been lucky.

But luck has a way of running out eventually…

I'm happiest when wandering through the uncharted territory of my imagination. You'll find me curled up with my laptop, browsing the books at the local library, or enjoying the smell of a new book, taking great delight in cracking the spine and writing in the margins!

Eva is a native Scot but lives in Texas with her husband, two kids, and a whizzy little fur baby with the most ridiculous ears. She first fell in love with British literature while majoring in Linguistics, 17th Century Poetry, and Shakespeare at University. She is an avid reader and lifelong notebook hoarder. In 2014, she finally put her extensive collection to good use and started writing her first novel. Now writing in three sub-genres of romance, Eva is currently working on some exciting new projects for 2021.

HOSTED BY:

This is book 2 in the series. I started it but felt very lost so I read the first book before. While Coop and Zoey/Zee's relationship starts in this book, the events referred to in this book feature her best friend, Faith and Coop's best friend, Hunter happen in the first book and so you might want to read the first book, Fumble, before this one. Aside from that this book stands alone easily.

After having read both books. This one is my favorite. It stars Zee aka Zoey and Cooper aka Coop they are best friends to the couple in the first book and when their friends have an issue in their relationship, Zee and Faith end up on Coop's doorstep and thats when the fun begins.

Zee is a bit over the top and has some great zingers, she is spunky and a handful and Coop just tries to keep up with her. She is very casual in her relationships and in this story Coop is the one chasing her and trying to get her to see they can have more.

Coop is absolutely awesome. From the minute he meets Zee he is all in. But she has issues I guess you can say. Her parents were never there for her and so she doesn't see how Coop could really want her. I loved how hard he works to get her to give him a shot and he is why I loved this story so much.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
