“Why are you out here?”
“I’m restless and couldn’t sleep.”
Her voice was husky, laced with a touch of need. But even I wasn’t asshole enough to take advantage of it. “I’ll leave you be.”
She moved closer, putting her hand on my chest. My body shuddered. Shuddered like a prepubescent teenage boy who’d never felt a woman’s touch.
I wanted her, and yet my seldom-present conscience wouldn’t allow me to act on my attraction to her. Not while she was this vulnerable. Guess there was a first time for everything. “This isn’t a good idea.”
She didn’t pretend to misunderstand me. “No, it isn’t.”
I should have walked away. A better man would have. I leaned in, my lips inches from her ear. I could practically feel the buzz coming off of her. “I should leave, before we do something you’ll hate me for tomorrow.”
“What if I hate you now? Would another reason matter?”
My chuckle filled the air. “You wish you still hated me.”
“True. It was easier before you were thoughtful.”
I searched her face. “If I kiss you, will you kiss me back or bite off my tongue?”
She smirked. “Only one way to find out.”
I crashed my lips to hers, groaning like a man who’d been starved too long and was getting his first taste of the finest meal. Tory didn’t disappoint, meeting my needy kiss with one of her own.
Fuck. When was the last time I’d actually taken the time to kiss a woman? Slide my tongue inside of her mouth and taste her? The answer was as empty as my aptitude for giving a shit about most people.
I moved my hands down to her ass and lifted her up, practically weeping with pleasure at the way her legs wrapped so perfectly around my waist. My strides were long and purposeful, eating up the distance until we arrived at my pool house. Letting her down easy, I then pinned her against the door while I fumbled with the code to let us in.

I have a new favorite in the series. I LOVED this book so much. It was beyond terrific. It easily stands alone though I would suggest you at least read the previous book in the series featuring Reid and Teagan in Miss Belief so you understand all the characters connections and motivations.
This story is about Tori and Chance who we both meet in Miss Belief. They are each siblings to Reid and Teagan. In the previous book Reid was made unengaged when he found his fiancee with Chance, his brother and cheating with him. Teagan was crushing on Reid and worked with him but she was stripping in Dubai on the side because she needed money so Tori could take care of her sick daughter, Penny who has Cancer.When Chance almost destroys their relationship, the only way he can achieve forgiveness is if he gets Tori to accept a job with him so she can have medical insurance.
And so Chance flies to LA where Tori lives and has to convince her to work for him and move into his mansion and let him give her medical insurance so he can help her daughter beat Cancer. And so begins their story.
I loved that this story has no cheating and no evil exes that get in the way. Chance meets Tori and he cannot resist her and well she makes him chase her because she has trust issues. Yes the book is named perfectly.These two have a really messed up history but they are absolutely perfect together.
In this story we also meet some new misses that will have stories in the future and I cannot wait.
