Paola Dangelico loves romance in all forms, pulp fiction, the NY Jets, and to while away the day at the barn (apparently she does her best thinking shoveling horse poop). She was born in Milan, Italy, grew up in New Jersey watching her father paint the covers of bestselling romance authors like Danielle Steel and Amanda Quick, and after a long stint on the left coast, she returned to the right coast to write about finding love in a modern world. This was a wonderful story about learning to live life in the present and to let the future take care of itself. It teaches you to enjoy the present as a gift and appreciate the love you have and life every second like it counts.
It is mostly told in the first person with Riley as our lead character. Eventually in the later half of the book we get Jordan side of things but its really Riley's story and I absolutely loved her. She is a happy person even though her life is not perfect and she has had many disapointments. She loves her friends whole heartedly and will do anything for them, and she has a very open heart to love, to friendship and one night she does something that changes her life.
She saves his life in many ways and he offers her a job which manages to save her friends life as well. She ends up as a nanny of sorts to a 2 year old Maisie when Jordan hires her to take care of her. Jordan is her godfather and he loves her very much. She really gives his life meaning and in turn Riley falls in love with her as well.
This was a story that takes place in NYC and Riley was awesome and as she tells you the story she injects lots of humor and I adored how she relates to Maisey, her best friend, and Jordan. Her life is not all roses either but she can see the happiness and I loved how she injected that into Jordan's life.
This was an awesome story and the author did a magnificent job with it. Its also has some serious moments as well but the humor and looking at life with a positive outlook really cased me to laugh and cry along with Riley.
