I am a fan of this author but I have never read the Driven series. It also has a slight race car racing theme and rock star theme as well.
The star of this story is Grady, he is related to the Driven series as his face who died was a race car driver. He was following in his footsteps when he died. After that he quit and decided to be a rocker with his friends. His heart is a bit broken from his pain and has one night stands with band groupies. Honestly this wild rocker scenes were not my favorite in this story.
Luckily that part of the story ends quite quickly and we meet Emma and his mom. His mother is Blythe and is she is a famous actress. She meets Emma at Emma's college where she lectures and she is very impressed with Emma. Emma is not your average college student and she impresses Blythe so much that she invites her to a Gala.
And thats how she meets Grady. From the second they meet Grady feels a strong connection to her. Both are very busy young adults and have to decide if following their attraction is worth the complications it will have on their life.
There is also a suspenseful element to the story as Grady and the band have a stalker that ends up getting pretty scary.
I loved this story and all the supporting characters in this story. I fell hard for the Grady who fell for Emma and I adored Emma. She definitely was one tough and strong woman and I loved her especially with Grady.
This was a fun and light romance with a small race car driver and rock star theme. I highly recommend it and loved it so much.
