Laramie Briscoe is the best-selling author of the Heaven Hill Series & the Rockin' Country Series.
Since self-publishing her first book in May of 2013, Laramie Briscoe has published over 10 books. She's appeared on the Top 100 Bestselling E-books Lists on iBooks, Amazon Kindle, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble. She's been called "a very young Maya Banks" (Amazon reviewer) and her books have been accused of being "sexy, family-oriented, romances with heart".
When she's not writing alpha males who seriously love their women, she loves spending time with friends, reading, and marathoning shows on her DVR. Married to her high school sweetheart, Laramie lives in Bowling Green, KY with her husband (the Travel Coordinator) and a sometimes crazy cat named Beau.
This is book 2 in a series of three books. It does NOT end on a cliff hanger but rather covers different segments of musicians EJ and Bri's life together from the first time they meet, to their marriage and beyond. Its hard to review this story without giving out too many spoilers.
Bri and EJ met at a concert for his mother in Las Vegas in the first book and they got married. But both are in demand musicians but come from very different families. Bri's parents used her while EJ's parents are musicians themselves so they had EJ's back. The first book was amazing and wonderful and I adored it. the only thing I hated was that it ended without a resolution as they faced a battle with their record company.
This is NOT a standalone story. You MUST read the first book. And this story will conclude in a third book but this book does solve some things and so its not like it ends on a cliff either.
Its about EJ and Bri's married life and their life together and their careers. We really get to know both families very well in this book and we see the huge differences on the way that EJ and the way that Bri was brought up.
The whole record company issue that ended in the first book and was what I thought this book would be about was not really this huge issue in this story. It was more about the secrets that Bri's parents have held over her head and her reaction to it and also EJ's counter reaction to it.
EJ majorly screws up in this book and I liked that Bri still has his back but also that forgiving him is also not an easy thing for her either. This is a book about EJ and Bri having to work at marriage and its hard work and its not always easy letting another person in and the author really explores that in this book.
