Breach of Contract - Nashvegas #2 - by Laramie Briscoe

ABOUT THE BOOK

Everett James Thompson

Known for my charismatic stage presence and being the oldest son of music royalty, I’ve always been able to do exactly what I want.

Front my own band? Become one of the powerhouses in the metal genre? Make a name for myself without using that of my parents? I’ve done all of it.

But when Brianna Jenkins walked into my life during a Vegas show, I knew without a doubt my carefully laid plans were over.

Getting married to her after a drunken night of debauchery should’ve been the worst mistake of my life. Instead? It’s the best decision I’ve ever made, and our record company thinks so too.

Or they did…

Brianna Jenkins Thompson

I’ve traveled the world, performed at Madison Square Garden, and sold out arenas everywhere. Nothing ever really made me nervous. That is, until I met EJ Thompson in Vegas. I needed liquid courage to talk to him, and that night changed my life forever.

Gone is the girl under her parents thumb, doing everything the record company tells her, and worrying constantly. In her place is a wife. A woman who knows her worth, standing beside the man who gave her his last name, his ring, and the confidence to let her voice be heard.

When the record company realizes just how much of a power couple we are; they serve us with a summons for breach of contract, expecting us to roll over.

But there’s two things they can’t silence. Our voices, and our love.

This is book 2 in a series of three books. It does NOT end on a cliff hanger but rather covers different segments of musicians EJ and Bri's life together from the first time they meet, to their marriage and beyond. Its hard to review this story without giving out too many spoilers.

Bri and EJ met at a concert for his mother in Las Vegas in the first book and they got married. But both are in demand musicians but come from very different families. Bri's parents used her while EJ's parents are musicians themselves so they had EJ's back. The first book was amazing and wonderful and I adored it. the only thing I hated was that it ended without a resolution as they faced a battle with their record company.

This is NOT a standalone story. You MUST read the first book. And this story will conclude in a third book but this book does solve some things and so its not like it ends on a cliff either.

Its about EJ and Bri's married life and their life together and their careers. We really get to know both families very well in this book and we see the huge differences on the way that EJ and the way that Bri was brought up.

The whole record company issue that ended in the first book and was what I thought this book would be about was not really this huge issue in this story. It was more about the secrets that Bri's parents have held over her head and her reaction to it and also EJ's counter reaction to it.

EJ majorly screws up in this book and I liked that Bri still has his back but also that forgiving him is also not an easy thing for her either. This is a book about EJ and Bri having to work at marriage and its hard work and its not always easy letting another person in and the author really explores that in this book.
