This is the 3rd book in the series and I read until the 2nd chapter and realised I needed to read the whole series from the beginning. This third book is the Forever Plan and it can be read as a standalone but I cried at certain points near the end and I think thats really because I was so invested in Evan and Trent as I really got to know them mostly in The Denial Game (the 2nd book).
If you read one book before this book, read The Denial Game, its a wonderful and amazing book with a complicated plot and absolutely awesome relationships. Its not a short book but its a really awesome plot and characters and the story was so awesome with many twists and turns along the way. Evan and Trent are supporting characters in this book so its a great way to get to know them before you read The Forever Plan.
Now about this book which is #3 in the series and is called The Forever Plan, this was a really different book in this series. It starts 5 years before any of the other books in the series and its really a story about teen love and separation and following your dreams and sometimes thats not easy and can really hurt. I cried near the end because these three characters really had to work hard to become a family.
This book is about Evan who we meet in the previous books. He is currently 23 and works at the towns bar and grill and he is a big grumpy gus but he is also beloved. In this story we get his story from the beginning and we also get to know his brother Trent.
At 16 Evan fell in love with Willa, who was the police chief's daughter. His home life was awful. His mother was dead, his dad a drunk and his young brother was just trying to survive. At 18 he and Willa go away to college until he is called home at 20 because his father has abandoned Trent.
Willa had big dreams. She entered college early and she dreams of being a Veternarian but she also is deeply in love with Evan and he with her. But when Evan decides to leave college to take care of Trent, he breaks up with her.
Three years later she is back in town and she chases Evan around town trying to get him give their young love a chance. And thats all I am saying about this story.
I am in love with this series and I am really impressed with this author. Each book was amazing and I adore every single character that I met in Landry. The town is adorable and quirky and I cannot wait to go back for more.
Reading the Series Tips:
This series is really different than I have ever read before. The Denial Game which is the 2nd book in the series, actually starts before either book 1 and 3 so if you decide to read the series I would start there. The first book in the series is The Experiment and it starts after the events in The Denial Game and then runs concurrent with The Denial Game. The Denial Game introduces all the characters so I would suggest you start with that book if you want to read the series.
