This is my first time reading this author and series. It was at times really confusing to read the story because there were so many spouses and characters that it got a little hard to keep up with them. The whole Coven thing was weird and there were a few chapters with them just texting and I honestly skipped those pages because it got confusing.

That said I loved Ryan and I also loved Amara and I adored Maverick, Amara's son. She is one strong lady and I absolutely admired her and the journey she took to get where she was. Ryan, is being driven crazy by the Coven but he was an awesome guy and character and I loved watching him fall hard for Amara.

Can this story stand alone? Probably but like me you might find some things confusing or skip some of the texting but the story was really awesome and I loved watching him fall for Amara and her son.

I would charecterize this as a slow burn story with a forbidden aspect as Ryan plays hockey and is the Captain of his team and he has a new coach who is Amara's best friends dad. She moved to town to help out coaches wife who has Cancer and needs the help to fight it. Amara herself is a minor celebrity blogger of a makeup website with a 9 year old son who also has type 1 diabetes but who wants to play hockey. She herself was a teen mom and now at 24, her son and family is her life. She moves to help coaches wife because they were there for her and Maverick when they needed them. 

This was engrossing story and I enjoyed it. It made me laugh, giggle and entertained me. I swooned a bit at how hot Ryan was and I adored his romantic side.
