MAKE YOU MISS ME by B. Celeste

 ABOUT THE BOOK

Stevie Foster thought her happy ever after would come easily after saying “I do” to her high school sweetheart at nineteen.

But twelve years later, she finds herself divorced, settling into a new home, in a new town, with a new job as an elementary teacher trying to pick up the pieces as she goes.

On top of struggling to cope with the future she always wanted versus the one she’s been dealt, she soon realizes that her new neighbor is a strict, stone-faced man she’s all too familiar with.

Lieutenant Colonel Fletcher Miller.

The man once in charge of her ex-husband’s unit.

And as if the reminder across the street of what she lost wasn’t painful enough, she also becomes his young son’s teacher.

A single dad. A divorcee. A second chance at love neither knew they’d get.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I am impressed. I really enjoyed the story, the characters and loved getting to know Stevie.

This story is told in first person by Stevie, a 32 year old newly divorced school teacher. It is primarily her voice and story in this book and I really liked her a lot. I would say this story is Chick-Lit rather than a romance. It has a romance but its not the focal point. What is the focal point is Stevie's journey from single for the first time since she was 15 to a strong, happy and independent adult.

The story begins when she moves into her first home by herself and she discovers her exes military commanding officer is her new neighbor. Fletcher and his son Nicki live across the street and it is a constant reminder of her ex.

This is a story about finding yourself, forgiving your yourself and letting go but also wanting a different future for yourself and loving yourself. It was an awesome story and Stevie really grew so much in this story. I absolutely loved her and her fighting spirit. I also loved that the new her never let anyone push her around and I loved watching that happen with Fletcher and her ex, Hunter.

This was very much a feel good story and one that really resonated with me. It was a light read and I loved getting to know Stevie and Fletcher and his son, Nicki.
