Just because she won’t think about me doesn’t mean I can’t think about her. Shit, how long has it been since I went on a date or had sex? Too fucking long. Not that we’re going to have sex. Look where that got us last time we did.

Closing my eyes, I think about being in that truck bed and her sitting there taking off her clothes for me. She worried everyone from the bond fire could see her, but I knew they’d all be too busy drinking and flirting to watch us.

Growing up in small town Texas, Thia Finn discovered life outside of it by attending The University of Texas, only to return home and marry her high school sweetheart. They raised two successful and beautiful daughters while she taught middle school Language Arts and eventually became a middle school librarian. After thirty-four years, she retired to do her favorite things, like travel, spend time off-roading with family and friends, hanging out at one of the Texas Hill Country's beautiful rivers, reading, and writing.

She currently lives in the same small town where she grew up, with her husband and Chihuahua, Josie. She can often be found stalking on social media, watching Netflix or Hulu.

 This is the story of three people. Shelby, Brett and Elijah. In this story Shelby has some HUGE secrets and when Brett moves to town they all start to dissolve and she will have to face her mistakes and lies as they relate to her adorable 6 year old, Elijah.

One one hand what Shelby did was pretty awful but I also saw her side and honestly I would feel the same way. I thought she explained herself really well to Brett when her mistakes and lies are exposed and I loved that while Brett was angry he also still heard her.

This is a shorter book. somewhere between Novella and Novel side. Its a new author I have never read before and I really enjoyed her writing, the characters and the story. Shelby makes some decisions when she is super young and I cannot imagine the decisions she faced at such a young age.

This was a wonderful second chance at love with a big twist and I loved every second of it.
