SOUTHERN SUNSHINE by Natasha Madison

ABOUT THE BOOK

Reed

I never wanted to be a cowboy, living in a small town was suffocating.

The military was my out.

I saw every place I ever wanted and everything that nightmares are made of.

Until I almost lost my life and then I ended up back home.

Hazel

Finding out that I was pregnant the night before I left for college changed everything. I left that small town and vowed to never return.

When my grandfather died, I had no choice but to go back home.

The plan was just for two weeks.

I thought it would be quick and easy, until he was standing at the back door asking questions.

Secrets never stay secrets for long in this town.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Meet Natasha Madison

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals.

You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...

This story was just WOW! I loved it so much. At times I did not like Reed at all. In fact I kinda hated him and how he treated Hazel and his own family but by the end of the story I absolutely loved him. He grew so much in this story and matured in such a way that I fell in love with him alongside Hazel.

This is a second chance at love between Reed and Hazel who grew up in the same small town. They were friends but both had plans to leave the small town after high school and so things never got more than friends with them.

Reed ends up in the military and he never comes home in the six years he is gone. At the start of the book I really did not like him. He was very distant from his family. He pretty much called them and that was it. He had deleted his social media because he really didn't want anyone to be able to find him. I have loved his family for so long, so it was hard for me to understand his feelings. He is the son of Liv and Casey and Quinn was his older brother,

Hazel went away to college and she has not been back to town in six years but for her it was about how Reed treated her when she tried to contact him after she left for college. She has secrets and she knows coming back to town is very dangerous to her secrets.

However when Hazel's grandfather dies she has no choice but to come back to town and deal with his home. And when Reed gets injured on a mission, he also comes home to recover from his injuries....and I loved how the author had Hazel's secrets come out. I loved how Reed treated her and his family treated her.

This was a really heartwarming and romantic story with lots of hot scenes and humor, love and a great second chance for Hazel and Reed in a small town. I loved that Reed grew up and started to appreciate the blessings of such a wonderful family in this story instead of running from them. And I loved that Hazel found a family to love her and that welcomed her.
