They both love each other and have for years but they are very bad at communication and sharing how they are feeling and their thoughts. For Hudson it was a HUGE risk as he is also best friends with Riley's twin sister. If it did not work out he felt that he would also lose her sister and twin as a best friend. So for him its a bit of a forbidden romance.
I adored Hudson so much. I loved how he felt about Riley and once he got over his fears that nothing was going to stand in his way. I also loved the way that he loves Riley in this book. He was willing to fight for her heart and I adored how he was with Riley.
Honestly I understood Hudson's reasons but I did not really understand Riley's. She creates this very hidden relationship with Hudson and its this huge secret. Even when she ends up pregnant she writes him letters but she never talks to the people around her who were related and in contact with Hudson.
I felt that her reasons were never really explained well. The only thing I can think was that she did not have self confidence in herself and how Hudson felt about her and so she was trying to protect him if he did not feel the same. But at some point you have to take the risk for love and I was not sure she ever got to a place to take that risk.
This was a story that was filled with lots and lots of angsyt. It was well written and I LOVED Hudson and all his friends and family. I felt Riley was very immature in this story and I wish the author would have explained her reasons why a little better but aside from that I enjoyed this story a lot.
