Dirt Queen by Nora Blake

Dirt Queen by Nora Blake is now live!

ABOUT THE BOOK

I love you. Always.

Sarah--We hadn't spoken in years, and more often than not, he was on my mind. When I moved back to town he reached out. I stalked him enough times on Facebook to know he had a wife and two kids. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but the pull I felt inside couldn't be ignored.

Aaron--She was back. I thought I'd never see her again, but there she was. Within my reach. She agreed to meet up at the dirt track when I sent her a message. What would she think of me being a dad? Did she even know?

The unspoken feelings she tried to leave in the past forced her to  keep him at arm's length.  He was in the middle of a divorce and had two boys they both needed to consider. He was all in but she was questioning everything.

But sometimes...you have to follow your heart and let yourself fall--no matter how things might end. It'd be worth it. Always.

This book is based on a true story.

This is a debut book by a brand new author and its also a true story. The story is about three childhood friends, Aaron and Nick who are brothers, and their childhood friend Sarah. When Sarah was 16 she moved away from their town and with time and distance, she lost contact with the brothers. At sixteen she loved Aaron and he loved her too but fearing the other didn't feel the same they never confessed their feelings. Now 11 years later Sarah moves back to town, but she knows he married and has two young kids and so she hesitates to contact him.

And thats all I am going to say about the plot because this book is very real to life. You know what I mean, Facebook is so easy to see people we lost contact with and with images and status updates you can stay in contact but not be in contact. And so when Aaron and Sarah meet up, it takes time for them to rebuild what they lost so many years ago.

Life for Aaron and Sarah has not gone well and they have amazing memories of each other but they also have heart breaks that they have suffered through. The three have a love of the race track and Sarah's nickname was Dirt Queen and I loved it every time Aaron calls her that because its really said with such love and affection.

I love books that leave me happy and that makes me laugh and this book is very different as its a real life story. So there are ups and downs, disapointments, losses and even failures. But this books message to me was that life is extremely precious and to not live a life with regrets. Live your life and appreciate the love and friendships and family you have in the present because no one knows what will happen tomorrow. At one point in the book Aaron tells Sarah he will teach her how to live a life to remember and well he didn't just teach her that, he taught me that as well and well I imagine all the readers who read this story.

This is one of those books that will stay with you forever. It is a very well written book. It has characters that I loved. But there is a big plot twist near the end that really changed how I felt about this book. It happened in the last 10 percent of the book and I felt the book ended way too soon. I had so many questions and I wanted more. This is not a light reading type of book but rather one that makes you think and appreciate the blessings in your life. The author did an amazing job telling this story and bringing to life the characters and making me love them.
