He plays to win; only she changed the rules....

As Manchester Athletic’s record signing, I should be basking in the adoration of fans and enjoying the perks that come with the job.

Only that’s never been my style. I keep a low profile and stay focused on doing my job. A chance one-night stand on my way back from the States is about as anonymous as I can make it. She had no idea who I was, and I was pretty sure she gave me a fake name too.

No numbers were exchanged, and we headed back to our so-called ordinary lives. The chance of a repeat should’ve been zero. Until we meet again in Manchester. Different names this time, but the same chemistry.

Two people escaping their realities in anonymous hotels.

It’s the perfect relationship until the media reveals our true identities to the world - and each other.

Hollywood Ball is the second standalone in the Manchester Athletic series. It’s a fake identity, insta-lust, jet set romance with a super geek soccer player and a super-sassy heroine.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a really fun, romantic story with a lot of fate thrown in there as well. It is Ryan's story and we first met him in the first book, Penalty Kiss in the series. I would say that the two books run concurrently and so we get Ryan's take on some things that happened in the first book and with Ryan's friend Rowan and Dee. That said this story easily stands alone.

This story starts in Houston during a bad snowstorm and Ryan and Otter end up having a lot of fun while finding shelter during a winter storm. The book had a fun quirk in that a lot of the chapters feature different romantic couples and Otter and Ryan use those fake names.

Fate in this book has a large part because despite getting no names and no ways to contact each other, Otter and Ryan keep finding each other. When they finally confess who they are, thats when I started to love this story.

Ryan is a popular soccer/football player in Britain, he is moving to Manchester and that's where he meets Rowan and Dee. But he does travel a lot and he meets a mystery woman who intrigues him as she travels the world too. I loved how these two find out who the other is and I also loved how Nate has a small crush on Otter and how he lets her know things when she is not around.

This was a really fun story, and I cannot wait for Nate's story and who the author pairs him with.
