This is the story about Shine (Haggard's brother and Cannal's his sister) and Iris. They both have a lot in common. 

1. Live in same small town

2. Have cheating exes that want them back

3. Still live with them while not being together because housing is an issue where they live.

4. Both like to eat HUGE meals.

5. Both like to race cars

6. Both have awesome brothers.

When Shine and Iris meet well it was such a meet cute meet than I ever read from this author. Iris is like no one Shine has ever met before and I loved her just as much as Shine did.

Primarily this is a story about love and family. Iris has a sister named Abby and she is one very hot mess. But Iris has persevered even with an evil sister and parents who don't have her back. And when she meets Shine, he just makes her so happy.

Shine is a rough around the edges guy but he loves who he is and when he meets Iris he can tell how awesome she is. These two have bad roommates but they make it work and when they meet well it was just awesome. I really was rooting for them as a couple.

If you have read Lani books before you know anything can happen and they are not light reading. This story was a great mix of laughter and nail biting and some more serious subjects and situations. But I really adored the ending.
