ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Meet Melanie

New York Times/USA Today bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of thirty-plus years and their rescue cat, Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.

While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys traveling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.

Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) She's learned happily ever afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is part 4 in a series about the Van Ryan family starring Richard Van Ryan and his wife Katy.

This series starts with The Contract and that tells Katy and Richard's journey of love and hate. It was awesome book and I loved it so much. Then we catch up with the Van Ryan's in The Baby Clause and its about Richard's feelings as he becomes a dad. And then we had The Admendment which is Richard's fight to claim his life back after something terrible happens to him.

And then we have this book, The Addendum, which is about his retiring and there are some wonderful happy times filled with love, friendship and family. We get to enjoy parties, weddings, new pregnancies and a very big discovery that not only changes Richard and Katy's life but also all their children's life as well.

There are lots of sex scenes in this story. I love sex scenes, but I felt I could have done without Katy and Richard's. I guess it shows that you can have wonderful sex at retirement age and how in love this couple was, but felt it was way too much. Sorta like reading about my grandparents having sex. I am happy they have it but I don't need to see it.

I felt all the other books in this series were romantic but this one was much more suspenseful. From the moment that Richard meets this woman at his daughter's wedding he felt her hate and anger at him, but he could not figure out why. The why kept me very interested in the story. Then when we finally find out who she is, well let's say it's not a happy experience. In fact, this woman is nasty and extremely unpleasant. What would she do? and what would the future hold, kept me reading as I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

And that's all I am going to say on my feelings about this book. I highly suggest you go in blind because that was what I really loved with this book. The not knowing kept me attached to the story to see how the whole thing would come about.
