London Lovers by J R Gale

London Lovers by J R Gale is now live!

HE WAS POSSESSIVE, DOMINANT, AND GORGEOUS—A LETHAL COMBINATION FOR MY HEART.

Growing up in high society isn't all it's cracked up to be.
So once a year, I take a three-week holiday with my best friend and leave it all behind—time away from the prying eyes and reprimanding words.

Things change when my eyes scan the hotel lobby and end up landing on former rugby player Wills Taylor.

His dominant personality was too much, but it still somehow pulled me in, and I ended up in his bed. I know his type, though. So, I make sure to leave before facing the dreaded 'morning-after.'

Except, Wills has other plans for us. What was just supposed to be a fun trip with my best friend turns into me finding a man I fall for too fast and too hard.

Then when an argument between us spirals into me catching another woman trying to kiss him, I can't do it. I bolt. And being alone in a foreign country has me finding out I've been hurt in ways I don't know I'll get over.

Three years later, he storms into my life again. This time, it's either listen to the hard truth and deal with the baggage Wills and I both carry or walk away from what might be my only chance at a life I truly want.

This is a debut novel and it was really awesome. Its a bit of a long story and it had some things I did not love, like a 3 year separation and the heroine, Sadie was attacked before the separation. At times I found the hero, Wills a bit too immature but  I also loved it when his mom called him on it. His mom was my favorite character in this book.

What I did love was that it was a long story and it was a bit of insta love  and also insta hate and I thought it was a really awesome second chance at romance. I also loved that I got to see some of the areas around Paris and London through the heroines eyes.

This story was told in two parts and I really liked that storytelling style rather than doing flashbacks. The first 33% of the story takes place 3 years before and it takes place in Paris where Sadie and her Bestie are vacationing for her 30th birthday. She meets Wills and his buddies and they fall hard until things split them up and something happens to Sadie. The attack is not graphic so if that bothers you, its easy to skip that section. Sadie has no real memory of it so its never really discussed later.

The real story begins on Chapter 10 at 33% and Sadie has been in the United States and is ready to move to London, we meet her then and she has had therapy to deal with what happened and is also a mother. When she moves to London she meets Wills right away and he hates her. I felt his behavior was super immature and there are other instances in the story where he acts first and doesn't ask questions that made me feel he was immature as well. He is 39 at this point, he is 6 years older than Sadie so he should have had more maturity. But I LOVED his mother so much. At one point she tells him how awful he acts and I seriously loved her so much.

Sadie is no angel either, she gets jealous and sometimes she over reacts but she also deals with it more maturely and you can see her growth as the story goes on in how she deals with her feelings and situations.

This story had a lot of awesome characters like Sadie's bestie and her brother Jackson, and Wills sister Evelyn and his bestie Declan. I really enjoyed this story and will look for future books by this author.

WORTH EVERY SECOND by Jocelyne Soto (Hunter and Selena)

 ABOUT THE BOOK

Posting “certain types” of pictures online is never a good idea. Especially when you’re the star player of your college football team.

But I did it anyway.

Never did I think that by posting my pictures online that I would find someone that I would actually be interested in.

But I did.

I saw her pictures, she commented on mine and the conversations were nonstop. She was the girl of my dreams and I wanted to meet her. Who knew that the girl of my dreams was the shy girl that sat next to me all semester.

Now that I know who she is, I want my shot. Only if she would give it to me. Every chance she gets I get turned down, but I'm not giving up.

I will show her that she is worth it, even if she may not think so.

This was a wonderful college romance story about two people hurt by previous relationships who find each other online and then in person and fall for each other as they become friends and then more.

This story takes place in Seaside, in Northern California. It stars football player, Hunter who comes back to school after vacation and finds out his friend and teammate has been cheating with his current girlfriend. Fellow college student and Latino, Selena also has been dumped by a guy she was seeing casually.

This was a mostly fun romance taking place at college featuring secret online friends who end up living in the same town, going to the same school and even taking a class together and becoming friends while not knowing they are online friends either. I really loved this aspect of the story.

This story had its serious issue moments as well. The beginning of the books gives a warning that there is a topic of sexual abuse in the story. It happens when Selena is extremely young, and she never tells anyone besides her best friend. But it also really affects her, and I loved when she finally confronts it and shares it with her family.

There is also a bit of bullying as the cheating ex does some really bullyish type of behavior to Selena. I really wanted her to suffer much more than she did for what she did.

The ending was awesome, and I loved Selena and Hunter and I loved watching them figure out what they wanted their future to be and make it happen, alone and together. These two made a really awesome couple and I adored watching them become friends and then fall for each other.

This is the first book in a three-book series, They are all interconnected though each book features a different guy of three college friends, Sebastien, Conner and Aiden. This books leading man is Sebastien and he is a congressman who is wanting to run for the Senate.

This is an age-gap romance with Sebastien being 30 and he falls for his new hire Alexis, age 22 and they have a very hot romance while she is his employee. But it is not all fun and games, this is also a suspenseful three part series that will keep you on your toes. While each book has a different couple as the leads, it is NOT a standalone and you must read the first book to know what is happening. In addition this story introduces all three couples, so you can see their connections to each other.

For a majority of the book we get many hot scenes, be sure and beware that this book has MANY sex scenes so if thats not your thing, you have been warned. If it is your thing well enjoy. They are very well written and are an integral part of the story.

This book is about Alexis and Sebastien's work relationship but also how they cannot resist each other and this is their story and it was fun watching these two fall for each other. There is a HUGE other plot in this book about a company that wants to invest in Sebastien's senate campaign and that Alexis is looking into. In addition there is also a very secret society that Sebastien and his friends are mixed up in and I cannot wait to learn more in the next book.

This is part of a series, I think but I have not read any of them but I have read previous series by the author. I found this book easy to follow as a stand alone story.

Its a second chance at love for two people, Blaire and Jasper/Caveman who grew up together but whose passions split them up and destroyed their very young marriage at age 19.

Six years later Blaire comes back to ask for a divorce and finds herself trapped in Seattle with no money and nowhere to stay and she has to ask Jasper for help.

I loved this story so much one reason is because we get to see Blaire and Jasper interact with some older characters and I absolutely adored that. We get some good time with Isaac, Avery and even Samantha.

Blaire is a show horse rider until her horses are possessed by the government and she has no money, no job, no car and no home. I loved that Jasper helps her find a job. When Blaire's everything is taken from her she gets a job when she thinks she has no real skills to get a job and she excels at that job so much that she ends up getting more job opps. This book was so awesome because I loved watching Blaire get so strong and realize that she didn't need her family money and she can still have her passion for horses. It was a total honor reading this story and meeting Blaire and seeing her realise how awesome she really is.

As to the romance, I also adored it. Jasper is always there for Blaire and these two are so different but they also are fighters and I loved watching them be there for each other. I also loved how Isaac tries to show Jasper that the problem was never their passions but rather it was their need to be the star and their immaturity was the issue and they can grow up and change and even share each others passions.

I absolutely adored this book so much. I think it might be my top favorite that the author has ever written. I loved how it took new characters and we got to see them with the older character's that I watched fall in love from other series.

FUBAR by Elise Faber

FUBAR by Elise Faber is available now!

Available on all platforms

FUBAR
adjective

  1. Seriously, perhaps irreparably, damaged
  2. Thoroughly disordered or ruined
  3. Maggie Augustin’s life

She was pregnant and alone…and sick.
Seemingly every second of every day.

Yup. She’d gone from single and carefree to chained to a porcelain goddess…and soon she’d be chained to a baby—to nap schedules and car seats, to saggy boobs and blowouts, to—

Nothing that resembled her life before she’d peed on a stick and it had flashed with a plus sign.

Which was fine. Her life before that stick-peeing hadn’t been all that exciting and great. Aside from her friends, she’d been more than a little lonely, wondering what the hell she should be doing with her life.

Then…preggers.

Then…Carter.

Carter Jackson was gorgeous, funny, and good. Carter Jackson was the type of guy she once would have dreamed of riding in on his stallion and saving her. Carter Jackson was a man who’d apparently decided that she was someone that needed rescuing.

The problem? She didn’t need rescuing. Not anymore. She would be standing on her own feet from here on out, thank her very much.

The other problem? Carter was determined to rescue her anyway.

This book is part of a series. I have read some but not all and not the book before this one. There were things I didn't understand because I did not read the previous book but as a whole, I found the book easy to follow as a standalone as well.

Trouble comes when Maggie's ex hits town with her parents who left Maggie as a baby and Carter wants to protect Maggie from them. This was a very HOT story and I loved how Maggie's friends rally around her and Jackson's family are also there to lend a hand.

This was a hot romance with lots of hot scenes. It also had lots of humor and I laughed with Carter and his brothers a lot. Maggie was a really strong character and I loved how Carter was with her. He was a great leading man who was so into her and she into him.

Campus God by Jennifer Sucevic

Crosby Rhodes is considered a god when it comes to Western Wildcats football.

And who knows, he might just be one.  There’s certainly no shortage of girls on campus who agree with the sentiment.  They swoon over his pretty face, dark messy hair, and hard body honed from years of lifting and two-a-day practices.  That alone makes him catnip for the female species.

Add a lip ring and surly disposition to the package and you can understand what all the fuss is about.

Would I be included in that majority?

Hell, no.

As far as I’m concerned, Crosby can eat shit and die.  The guy is a major jerk.  Not to mention, a pain in my assets.  And that’s putting it nicely.  For reasons I’ve never understood, he goes out of his way to humiliate and hurt me.  His barbed comments are always a direct hit before exploding on impact.

I’d love to know what I did to elicit such hatred but that would involve conversing with him and I refuse to do that.  There’s only one more semester before graduation.  Surely, we can get through the next six months without coming to blows.

That’s the hope, anyway.

Which is exactly why I’m thrown off guard when my nemesis pulls me aside and suggests a truce.  Do I necessarily trust him after everything he’s put me through?

Nope.  For the time being, I’ll agree so there can once again be peace in the kingdom all the while keeping him at a firm distance.  Except that turns out to be impossible.  Everywhere I go, there he is.  It’s like I can’t get away from him.  More shocking than that, he’s actually being nice.

If stomping out the underlying attraction that constantly flared to life between us was difficult before, it’s all but impossible now.  But that’s exactly what I’m going to do.  I’ve been burned by one athlete, I’ll be damned if I allow it to happen again.

This is Brooke and Crosby's story and it was really awesome and a huge surprise. It has a forbidden romance, secret identity, text messaging and also has a bit of redemption for Crosby.

This is part of the series and while it can be read as a stand alone easily. I do suggest you read this series because its awesome and we get to see some of the previous guys from other books in a few scenes.

Brooke dated Andrew who was best friends and roommates with Crosby. Because Crosby is a good guy and was attracted to Brooke he made her hate him. Now Andrew and Brooke are broken up because he cheated on her and Crosby is still mean because he still feels its a forbidden crush. Andrew has not given up and so shenanigans, text messaging, a secret identity is born and Crosby falls even more for her.

This was a really fun book I loved all the secrets that Crosby has and you just know its going to hit Brooke hard. But I really adored Crosby in this story. He had some really tough decisions and I appreciated that he had a huge conflict between his head and his heart.

Brooke hates Crosby until he shows her that he is not the guy he was when she dated Andrew. I liked that she was suspicious but I also liked that she gave him a shot. I also felt her conflict between her feelings about Crosby. She was true to herself and I really loved that about her.

This was a light, fun story with secrets, romance and so much heart that I fell for Crosby just like Brooke did.

This is a really fun, hot, sexy and addicting romance with a tiny love triangle and a small amount of Angst. It takes place at Valley U but its a whole new group, this time women who are called the wall flowers and live in a house off campus and next door to the White House.

This is a story about three people who are in a college science class, Liam, Jordan and Daisy. Daisy likes Liam and he sort of likes her, Jordan doesn't like anyone he just wants to get them together because watching them is kind of painful, because Jordan is a hockey playing major player at Valley U.

Daisy is a shy woman who has a major crush on Liam and she hits the jackpot when they end up as lab partners. He seem like the perfect guy for her except that he makes no moves. So Jordan tries to help her out and well that's when he finds out how awesome Daisy is.

This was an awesome story. It is fun and a hilarious triangle that is very low on angst. Jordan does some really crazy things because he likes Daisy but doesn't want Daisy to realize it. It was such an original storyline and I really loved it so much. I am loving this Wallflower series and cannot wait for whose story is next.

Meet Laura Brown

After spending her childhood coming up with new episodes to her favorite sitcoms instead of sleeping, Laura Brown decided to try her hand at writing and never looked back. A hopeless romantic, she married her high school sweetheart, though they didn’t even go to the same high school! They live in Massachusetts with two cats with cerebellar hypoplasia, and an energetic kid who keeps them on their toes. Laura’s been hard of hearing her entire life but didn’t start learning ASL until college, when her disability morphed from an inconvenience to a positive part of her identity. It’s important to her to create strong, competent characters with hearing loss, as she didn’t have that growing up. At home the closed captioning is always on, lights flash with the doorbell, and hearing aids are sometimes optional.

This was a new author for me and a really different story than I had read before. It was both fascinating, fun and different. In this story we are invited to two weddings and a contest.

This is a story about love, family, siblings, parents and being true to yourself. This book is told in dual POV and I absolutely adored it.

In this book we meet Mark and Shaina. Both are single, and 32 and neither want children. They have known each other from birth as their moms are best friends and their families are very close to each other. But Mark and Shaina HATE each other and don't understand each other and their families know this.

On the way to wedding #1 Mark realizes that he has spoken to Shaina for 32 years and she has never heard a word. He always thought she hated him because she refused to talk to him. Instead she tells him she is hard of hearing and needs him to speak up because her hearing aid then can make out what he is saying. This changes everything for Mark. These two have known each other forever but never really knew each other.

Mark is a demisexual which I have never seen in a book ever. In fact I had to ask google what that was. This book really explains the difficulty and how its hard for his parents to understand what that actually means.

At the wedding the siblings come up with a fun game where couples compete in a challenge to win a fantastic trip and being the only singles at the wedding, Mark and Shaina partner up.

I found this part of the story was a lot of fun and really added to my enjoyment of this book because I loved all the challenges especially the escape room.

If you are looking for a fun romance that will hold your interest and is really different and original then you will love this enemies to love romance.

This was an absolutely amazing story and I loved it so much. Its a teen bully story but it also is suspense and a HUGE nailbiter. I loved that the teens in this story save their mom and that they become this team and have each others backs.

This story starts in New Hampshire where we meet 17-year old Grace, who has lost her father and is forced to move into the gothic mansion where her mom works for her rich girlhood friend. Thats when she meets 18 year old Seren, 17 year old Saint and 16 year old Sawyer. The boys are mean and cold, except for Sawyer who becomes Grace's friend.

Seren sees Grace and hates her on sight and she thinks he is a cold and unfeeling boy. She also hates his friends and so Seren and friends try and torture her a bit.

This book sort of read a bit like Pride and Prejudice and the characters of Grace and Seren get compared a lot in this story. I adored this aspect of the story. And as we start to see Seren open up to Grace and her demand better behavior from him, I started to adore this story.

Trouble comes on graduation day and that's when the suspense kicks up in this story. This is where I couldn't turn the pages enough and I loved how Grace decides to fight back and get the brothers involved.

I LOVED this story so much. It was a wonderful bully story and I adored the comparison to Pride and Prejudice. I also loved watching Seren and Grace fall for each other and the ending was the best.
