HOSTED BY:

This is Liam and Paige's story. If you read Finding Ronan's Heart then you have met Liam, Paige and her daughter Lucy. If you haven't then go read it before you read this book as this book might have some spoilers for that book. Aside from that this book can stand alone.

Liam is the son Aiden and Cami from the original Vested Interest series. He is the older brother of triplets, one of who is Ronan who in the previous book fell for Paige's roommate. In this book he is helping Ronan makeup and thats how he gets introduced to Paige and her young daughter, Lucy.

They both fall hard and we see that in Finding Ronan's Heart. In this book we get to see things from Liam and Paige's side of things and find out their future. It was awesome and nothing happened that was a surprise as I read Finding Ronan's Heart but I loved getting inside their heads and I enjoyed seeing how romantic Liam was with Paige and getting a view inside their heads. I also loved seeing how Liam protects Paige and Lucy from anything that might hurt them.

This was a really fun, flirty, sweet and romantic story and I cannot wait for Ava's story next.

Excerpt

I turn on the flashlight and trudge through the brush and past the campfire, which incidentally has been left unattended. It’s down to a smolder, but Van has left out hot dog sticks and a bag of buns.

I keep going, toward Bee’s front porch and the blinding spotlight. Standing in front of the cottage is Van. Shirtless. Sweaty and shirtless. The bright light shines directly on him, accenting the dips and ridges, the smooth planes of muscle.

Van is ripped. Probably because he spends a lot of time at the gym, staring at his own reflection in the mirror. He lifts his ball cap from his head and runs a hand through his deliciously sweaty dark hair before he flips his cap around and replaces it, backward this time.

I roll my eyes at myself. What the hell is wrong with me? Deliciously sweaty. “Hey!” I bark.

He startles and the hammer in his hand goes flying, but he was on the back swing, so it heads in my direction. I sidestep it, and it manages to miss me by about six inches. He spins around, eyes wide as they land on me. “What the fuck?”

“Do you realize what time it is?”

“Do you realize that you scared the living shit out of me and I could’ve hurt you, or myself?” He motions to the hammer lying on the ground next to me.

“Wouldn’t that have been a pity,” I snap.

“What the hell is your damn problem?”

“You.” I point a finger at him. “You are the problem. It’s after ten. There’s a bylaw in place around here that stipulates all construction takes place between the hours of seven a.m. and nine p.m. from June to August, and you’re violating that. And for what? It’s not like whatever you’re doing is going to matter when your damn plan is to parcel out the property!” I’m yelling now, and heaving. And my nipples are peaking under the white tank I wore to bed. I hug myself to hide them.

“This is the second time you’ve said that. What the hell are you talking about?”

“What do you mean, what am I talking about?” I flail for a second and then cross my arms again. “You called me about it. Bee wasn’t gone a couple of weeks, and you were already asking about acreage and subdividing. It doesn’t take a genius to know what your plans are!”

“I don’t even know what you mean by subdividing, and I never called you.”

“Yes, you did!” He’s just so infuriating.

“No. I didn’t. Believe me, I’d remember dealing with someone as hostile as you.”

“I am not hostile.”

“Really?” Van props a fist on his hip. His narrow hip.

I follow the movement, which leads my eyes to his waist, that enticing V of muscle dragging my gaze down farther. Of course, because my brain is a jerk, the image of him naked pops back into my brain.

As if he’s reading my mind, his brow arches. “You’re picturing me naked right now. Aren’t you?”

“What? No!” My eyes snap back up to his.

“Yeah. You are.” His lip curls, somewhere between a smirk and sneer, his tone needling. “You were staring at my crotch, probably thinking about the last time you visually molested my junk. Is that why you stopped by? To check me out again? This whole fake phone call thing is an excuse for you to come back over here and get a look at the goods again.” He runs a hand down his chest.

“You’re an egotistical asshole. I realize that this might be some kind of fun holiday for you, and that you’re probably sleeping until noon every day, but some of us have to be up at the crack of dawn. Bylaw hours are seven a.m. to nine p.m. Next time you break them, expect to get a visit from the sheriff.” I spin around and stomp over to the extension cord, find the place where it’s joined to the lamp, and break the connection, submerging us in darkness. “Next time I won’t be so nice about it.”

“Hate to break it to you, but you weren’t very nice about it this time,” he calls after me.

It drives me crazy how easy it is for him to push my buttons.

A few seconds later I hear an oof and a clatter, which means he’s tripped over something in the dark. I smile to myself. Hopefully this time he’ll get the message.

This was a really awesome story and romance about two very different people who come from very different families but who loved the same woman, Bee.

Bee was a grandmother to Donavan, Bradford and Teagan but the only one who really visited her was Van. Dillon or as Bee called her, Lynnie lived next door and she loved Bee so much, more as a close confidant and best friend. So when Bee dies, Van comes back to town and Dillon is the executer of her estate.

Both live in Chicago but when Dillon loses her job and boyfriend and her family calls and asks for help because her brother is injured, she comes home too and thats how she meets Van in person and its not love at first sight but more of irritation at first site.

This was not the most romantic book in the world. I adored Dillon and Van's romance and how they are there for each other and both loved Bee so much. What I loved in this story is the family love. I loved Billy, and how he needs his sister to help him get the help he needs. I loved that Dillon realises that everything she wants has always been there right where she left it. And I loved how Van's family fights for him and tries help him as things start happening that point to someone after what Bee left him.

This story is about love and family and that if they have your back well then you have everything. Its a fun, flirty and wonderful story but it also deals with some more serious issues like death, and mental health.

Miss Fortune - Miss #5 - by Aubrey Bondurant

ABOUT THE BOOK

Caleb Morrison is the most uptight man I’ve ever met – and he’s my new boss.

One moment he’s cold, the next he’s unexpectedly sweet. It’s enough to give me whiplash. Despite my attraction to him, I’m convinced we’re too different to be more than friends.

But then he flips the script and I’m left with a decision.

Daisy Wilson is the most intriguing woman I’ve ever met – and she’s my new assistant.

Although we’re complete opposites, I can’t resist her positive energy or the light she brings to my life.
But just as we grow closer, my secret threatens everything.

Pushing her away is the right thing to do.
I just hope she doesn’t listen.

EXCERPT

The second my lips found hers, I knew one taste would never be enough. The kiss exceeded every imaginary scenario I’d come up with over the last few weeks.
Still, I’d gone from zero to one hundred, and it was clear she was shocked by the way her body tensed.
I pulled back, searching her face. “I should’ve asked if I could kiss you. I didn’t mean to—”
She yanked me back to her, now an active participant in this madness.
I walked her into her apartment a few steps so I could use my foot to kick the door shut behind me. One of my hands rested on her hip, the other at the back of her neck.
Reluctantly, I broke the kiss, locking my gaze on her big green eyes. “This wasn’t part of the plan.”
“You planned not to kiss me?”
“Yeah, you want to hear about how it’s going?”
Her giggle bubbled up, causing me to grin.
My hands framed her face. As much as I craved another kiss, my conscience intervened. “You and I want different things.”
“Oh, I don’t know. Right now I want you to keep kissing me, so I’d say our wants are pretty aligned.”
I groaned, moving my lips to her neck where inhaling her scent made me have to close my eyes. I desired her so badly, my body was shaking. “I meant long term you want marriage and kids, and I don’t.”
“You’re right. I do want those things.”
Fuck, my head told me to walk away now. My body, however, was moving her into her bedroom. My hands skimmed down to breasts I’d spent many a minute dreaming about. I was afraid if I didn’t touch her now, I’d never get another chance.
“I won’t change my mind.” I wasn’t sure who I was trying to convince.
“Me, either.”
“But I don’t want to stop this.” Selfish as it might be.
She had no doubt in her expression. “Good. Me, either.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Aubrey Bondurant is a working mom who loves to write, read and travel.

She describes her writing style as: "Adult Contemporary Erotic Romantic Comedy," which is just another way of saying she likes her characters funny, her bedroom scenes hot, and her romances with a happy ending.

When Aubrey isn't working her day job, or spending time with her family, she's on her laptop typing away on her next story. She only wishes there were more hours of the day!

She's a former member of the US Marine Corps and passionate about veteran charities and giving back to the community. She loves a big drooly dog, a fantastic margarita, and football.

Daisy's story is here! She was friends with Tori in Miss Trust which was Tori and Chance's story. They are Daisy's good friends who live in LA too and Chance's sister Kelsey. Daisy's story was a bit different than I was expecting but I absolutely loved it. Daisy was a total hoot and I adored every curvy inch of her in this book.

On paper this book is about two people who are very attracted to each other. One is the boss, Caleb and the other is his new temp assistant. But its not your typical at work romance because Caleb doesn't really have the power in this relationship because Daisy doesn't need the job.

Doris is Caleb's assistant and she asks her friend Daisy to take her place while she has surgery. Its a personal favor as Daisy does not need to work at all. She is just there because she is close to Doris.

Caleb is a lawyer with a disability (I can't say what because that might be a spoiler). Very high functioning and so most people just think he is not social and grumpy. He is also divorced and feels marriage is not for him and children are definitely not his future.

Daisy is recovered from a transplant and she is very wealthy and so she wants to explore and enjoy life. But finding a man to date is very complicated.  Enter Caleb who offers friendship. Though he lusts after her, he feels they want very different futures.

I loved the writing and the characters in the story. It was a book I could not put down and I could not turn the pages fast enough. It easily stands alone and I really liked it.

Near the end there is a BIG plot twist and at first I did not love it but when it was over it made me love the book even more. I am also really excited about the next two books in the series.

This was a really wonderfully written story about two main characters that find love thru a friendship but who are not perfect and come with some imperfections but together their imperfections make them perfect for each other. I think this and Miss Trust are my two favorite books in the series.

The Nanny and the Nerd by Krista Sandor

The Nanny and the Nerd by Krista Sandor is now live!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Three things NOT to do when nannying for a video gaming mogul (aka the hottest nerd on the planet):
#1 Do not get lost in his dreamy green eyes.
#2 Do not salivate over his rock-hard abs.
#3 No matter what happens, do not fall for his super-nerdy dirty talk!

Penny Fennimore is not winning at life. An aspiring writer with a monster-sized case of writer's block, she's got bills to pay and barely a dime to her name.
Enter the exclusive Nanny Match Agency and an opportunity to make bank.
The job: A cushy, live-in nanny position caring for tech billionaire Rowen Gale's six-year-old niece.
The problem?
Her hot nerd of a boss!

They're opposites in every way. He's the king of hi-tech, and she uses a flip phone from 2002. She's not even sure he's 100% human. With his muted expression, the man might as well be one of the robots from his video games until their eyes meet, and the attraction meter explodes.
She's got to put the kibosh on her libido. But the universe doesn't always play nice.
When Mr. Robot-Bedroom-Eyes goes MIA, she marches up to his fancy-pants video gaming company to give him a piece of her mind--which doesn't go as planned.
Instead, she spies a video game storyboard. It's a hot mess, and she can't help but dive and rewrite it.
Did anyone ask for her opinion? That's a no!
The positive? She's writing!
The negative? Her boss needs her to keep it up. Turns out, this video game requires a complete overhaul, and she's the only one who can give him what he wants.
Now, she's not only caring for his niece. She's with him morning, noon, and night.
And that's where it gets complicated.
When he looks at her, she gets a glimpse of what's behind his hardened veneer. And being with this man feels right, like the forever kind of right.
Her heart is on the line.
Could this nanny match be the match that changes everything, or will it be game over for the nanny and the nerd?

This is a very different nanny story. It stars Penny who is a writer at night and waitress during the day, until she is fired but she has a customer who thinks she'd make a great nanny after watching her interact with kids.

We also meet Rowan who is rich, hot and likes one night stands and casual relationships until he needs a nanny for his orphaned niece, Phoebe, who is 6 years old.

When these two meet, well lets say its filled with a very unique and meet cute. I really liked these two together and I loved how Phoebe's teacher is Abby from the authors previous series about the Bergen brothers.

This was a very long story. I found the beginning took some time to build the story and I felt it could have been edited more but after Rowan and Penny finally meet this book really took off and I fell hard for the characters and the story.

I also loved the authors humor and how opposite Penny and Rowan are.. He is all about technology and apps and she is about paper and writing things down. The meeting with Abby cracked me up and I loved these two very opposites.

This was a really fun and flirty story with lots of humor and a cute mischievous kid and and adorable couple with lots of laughs along the way.
