Cora Brent was born in a cold climate and escaped as soon as it was legally possible. Now, she lives in the desert with her husband, two kids and a prickly pear cactus she has affectionately named ‘Spot’.

This is a story about 3 friends, Jace, Tori and Colt who grew up in Arcana, It is told in two parts, now and then. I am not a fan of stories going into the past, I much rather read the here and now. But the author did a great job using the past and present to show the relevant parts that readers need to know about.
The now part has all three characters very split up. Jace is an award winning NFL quarterback. Holt hops around the country doing odd jobs, and his sister Tori lives in San Diego. And saddest of all Jace's grandma who was close to all three has died but has left them her house.
Tori is at loose ends and needs a place to rest thats safe and so she comes back to Arcana. Jace meanwhile learns she is there and he decides to return as well. And so this story gets really great at this point. I love a really good hate to love romance with characters that did each other wrong in the past and this story was perfect if you love that as well.
It is a stand alone story and really well written in this authors style. My heart kinda broke for Tori and I was so excited that Jace comes for her because she really needs him.
This was an awesome second chance at love with a bit of hate to love also. I love how Colt and Jace end up coming together to support Tori and help her heal. And OMG I adored the way they handled dealing with Dr. Tim in this story. There is more to come as the author is going to write a story for Colt.
